OBREAL Global was privileged to host the annual Donor Harmonisation Group Forum between 23 and 25 November, an annual meeting that gathers agencies, international organisations and associations committed to supporting and funding higher education in development cooperation.
The DHG (originally coined ‘Donor Harmonisation Group’, albeit the current interest to change the name and move away from the term ‘donor’), explored the theme ‘Creating reciprocal, mutually beneficial partnerships to respond to local and global challenges’. Participants shared experiences regarding programming and managing funds and projects with partners in the global South. Co-creating development cooperation programmes, enhanced impact assessment capacity in Southern partner organisations and ethical guidelines for cooperation were amongst some of the issues on the table.
OBREAL Global was pleased to incorporate many of its members and partners from Africa, Latin America and South East Asia into the discussions, to enrich them and render them more relevant.
